AMD Ryzen 7 Performance

The Ryzen 7 5800U and Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U both provide 8 cores and 16 threads with boost speeds up to 4.4GHz. This gives the EliteBook 845 G8 strong performance for Microsoft Office, programming, large spreadsheets, business applications and demanding multitasking.

The PRO version additionally targets enterprise environments, while everyday CPU performance is strong on either Ryzen 7 configuration.

16GB DDR4 RAM

The 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM provides responsive multitasking across multiple applications and browser tabs. Unlike many thin business laptops with soldered memory, the EliteBook 845 G8 provides two upgradeable SO-DIMM slots.

HP supports up to 64GB DDR4, giving users useful flexibility for heavier workloads in the future.

256GB NVMe SSD

The 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD delivers fast boot times, quick application launches and responsive file access. NVMe storage makes everyday productivity considerably faster than systems using traditional mechanical drives.

HP officially offered 256GB NVMe storage configurations, alongside larger SSD options.

14-inch Full HD Display

The 14-inch Full HD 1920 × 1080 display provides a sharp workspace for office applications, browsing, presentations and video content. HP offered IPS anti-glare panels with 250-nit and 400-nit options, plus touchscreen and HP Sure View configurations.

Because multiple panels were available, brightness and touch capability should be confirmed on the individual laptop.

AMD Radeon Graphics

Integrated AMD Radeon Graphics provide efficient performance for Full HD multimedia, presentations, multiple displays and light creative workloads. The integrated design also helps maintain good battery efficiency and portability.

Graphics performance varies slightly depending on whether the laptop uses the Ryzen 7 5800U or Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U.

Battery and Fast Charging

The HP EliteBook 845 G8 uses a 3-cell 53Wh HP Long Life battery. HP Fast Charge supports approximately 50% charge in 30 minutes under supported conditions.

Actual battery life depends on display brightness, processor workload, wireless activity and battery health, particularly on refurbished units.

USB-C and Connectivity

The laptop includes two USB-C 10Gbps ports with USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, plus two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.0 and a combined audio jack.

This connectivity is useful for USB-C docks, external monitors, storage drives and modern office accessories without sacrificing portability.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Depending on configuration, the EliteBook 845 G8 was available with Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.x wireless solutions. Selected configurations also supported optional LTE mobile broadband.

Build Quality and Portability

Starting at approximately 1.37kg, the EliteBook 845 G8 is easy to carry while still providing a full 14-inch screen and upgradeable hardware. Its chassis measures roughly 32.34 × 21.46 × 1.79 cm.
